THE 2008 YOUNG ACTORS CONSERVATORY

The Young Actors Conservatory is gearing up for another great summer! The Young Actors Conservatory - fondly known as YAC - is a unique four-week summer intensive that offers conservatory-style training for Houston-area middle and high school students.

YAC is divided into two different sessions: the first for middle school students, with classes June 9 - 27; and the second for high school students, with classes July 7 - August 1. This year, high school students were required to audition for the conservatory, and their tuition has been completely underwritten by a group of generous donors.

Led by recognized theatre professionals, YAC classes and laboratories encourage participants to explore every facet of dramatic production. At the end of the workshops, the students will create their own fully realized original stage piece that will be produced at Stages. Mark your calendars now and plan on joining us to see all of our talented conservatory participants for FREE!

Middle School YAC Final Performance: Friday, June 27 at 7:00 pm

High School YAC Final Performance: Friday, August 1 at 7:00 pm

CREATIVE PLAY WITH KIM TOBIN

For students in grades 1 - 6

Come and play with Kim Tobin! In this three-day workshop we will play a number of theatre games that help to strengthen the imagination and build self-confidence through teamwork and cooperation. Students will work on short scenes to see how these tools make more spontaneous and exciting actors.
