The fighter is a lover. The damsel is a warrior. And the hero turns out to be a girl. In an adventure
that's equal parts William Shakespeare and Monty Python, a
tenth-century feminist princess and her 14-year-old husband make a
shocking discovery on their wedding night and embark on a mad scramble
through the mud of ancient England, faced with the perils of Viking
raids, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and the wrath of a murderous king. With
subtle wit and a distinctly-modern sensibility, playwright Moira
Buffini re-imagines our traditional stories and explores timeless
questions about the price of power, the nature of God, and the wisdom
of silence.
Directed by Rob Bundy.
